Today

Daily tarot card

One card a day, with a question to sit with and a line to write if you like.

Today’s card is waiting face down. Turn it over when you’re ready.

The same card for everyone today, drawn by date. No streaks: come back when you like.

King of Wands, reversed

impulsiveness · domineering · high expectations · arrogance · vision without follow-through

Reversed, the King of Wands can show leadership that tips into control, or vision that runs ahead of follow-through.

How could you lead in a way that leaves room for others to rise?

How to use a daily tarot card

A daily card is a small habit: a minute with one picture and one question. Each day Lanterndeck draws one card from the full 78-card deck, upright or reversed, by the date: everyone who opens this page today sees the same card, and it changes at midnight. Nothing about it is chosen for you or from anything you have written.

  1. Turn it over when you have a minute. The card waits face down until you’re ready, the way a card waits on a table.
  2. Read the one line and the question. The line comes from the card’s meaning in Lanterndeck’s card library. The question is there to think with during the day, not to answer straight away.
  3. Write one line, if you like. A thought, a mood, something that happened. It stays in this browser, and the next time the card turns up, your notebook shows the date and what you wrote.

Upright and reversed

A reversed card is drawn turned around, the whole card upside down. It doesn’t mean the opposite or a bad sign: in most traditions it shifts the emphasis, toward something held back, delayed or turned inward. The card’s page explains both ways up.

What a daily card can’t do

It can’t tell you what will happen today, and it isn’t advice about health, money or the law. Read it as a prompt: a picture and a question that might help you notice something about your day. If a card keeps coming back, that’s worth a thought too; your notebook counts it for you, and the pattern page sets what came back beside what chance alone would give.
