Love tarot reading: three cards on what you feel
Ask about someone, or about love in general, and draw three cards from the full deck. Each note sits beside the card’s love meaning from the library.
“Unlock what he really feels” offers? There are none here.
How the three cards read for a love question
- Past
- What you brought into this: how it started, earlier hopes, an old hurt that still shapes it.
- Present
- Where you stand with them today, as you feel it, not as they might describe it.
- Where it could go
- What could grow from here if things carry on as they are.
How do they feel about me?
It’s the question behind a lot of love readings: what is going on for them? A reading can’t know what another person feels, and Lanterndeck won’t pretend it can. What it can do is help you put words to what you’re picking up from them, what you hope is true, and what you’d like to say.
Choose “How they feel about me” above, or start from one of these questions. Each card is then read with its feelings meaning from the library, quoted beside the note, so you can see exactly where each line comes from.
How the three cards read when you ask about someone
- Past
- What you have picked up from them so far: moments, messages, silences.
- Present
- What you sense from them now, and how it sits with you.
- What you hope for
- What you hope for between you, and the part that is yours to do.
Cards that often come up when you ask how someone feels
- Queen of CupsA mood this card can describe: deep tenderness and care, an intuitive sense of who someone is. Where have you felt truly seen?
- Page of CupsA mood this card can describe: tender curiosity, a little shy about showing it. What small gestures have you noticed?
- The High PriestessA mood this card can describe: quiet, private interest that isn’t shown openly. What small signs have you noticed, and how much are you filling in yourself?
- Four of CupsA mood this card can describe: indifference or withdrawal, a mind turned inward. What might they be preoccupied with that has nothing to do with you?
- Six of CupsA mood this card can describe: fondness and tenderness, with a nostalgic warmth for shared memories. Is the warmth about now, or about then?
- The MoonA mood this card can describe: confusion, deep feeling that’s hard to put into words. What do you actually know, and what is your imagination supplying?
What a love reading can and can’t do
A love reading is a way to think through a question about someone: an ex, a partner, a person you can’t stop thinking about, or the kind of love you want. You draw three cards (what you brought to it, where you stand now and where it could go) and get a short note on each card and a few lines on how they read together.
It can help you notice how you feel, what you’re hoping for and what you keep coming back to. It can’t read another person’s mind, tell you what they’ll do or promise that someone will come back.
What you won’t find here
- What someone else is thinking, or what they will do.
- Whether you are or will be pregnant. That question goes to a doctor or midwife, and the reading will say so.
- Countdowns, “last chance” prices or “your reading expires” pressure.
Cards that often come up in love readings
Each card’s love meaning, word for word from the library the readings are written from. Open a card for its upright and reversed meaning in full.
- The StarIn love, the Star points to hope, emotional openness and a connection that feels inspiring and sincere. It encourages you to let yourself believe in love again.
- Two of CupsIn love, this card reflects mutual attraction, emotional balance and a bond in which both people feel seen. It carries the energy of choosing each other freely and as equals.
- The LoversIn love, this is one of the warmest cards in the deck, pointing to mutual attraction, emotional closeness and a meaningful bond. It may also ask you to make a heartfelt choice.
- Ace of CupsIn love, this card reflects a new or renewed bond, tenderness and an open, generous heart.
- Five of CupsIn love, this card reflects heartbreak, regret over a relationship or lingering sadness about what did not work out. That sadness is natural, and the two upright cups are a reminder that not everything has been lost.
- Knight of CupsIn love, it reflects romance, charm and someone who expresses affection openly, sometimes with an idealistic streak.
Sample · Sam’s reading, not yours
One card from a love reading, traced to its source
Sam asked Will things work out with Jordan?
and drew three cards. Here is the middle one: the note written for Sam’s question, and beside it the library line it was written from, word for word.
Present: The Star, reversed Sample
Right now, The Star appears reversed, which usually points to hope running low. Upright, this card is renewal and quiet faith; reversed, it often shows up when you’ve stopped trusting that things can feel good, or when you’re waiting for someone else to refill a well only you can tend. The hope isn’t gone, but it may need looking after.
From the card library · in love, reversedIn love, this can reflect disillusionment, guardedness after hurt or difficulty trusting again. It invites patience with your own heart.

Questions about love readings
Can a love tarot reading tell me if my ex will come back?
No. No card can tell you what another person will do. A reading can help you look at what you want and how you’re feeling about it, which is often the more useful question.
Can the cards tell me what someone feels about me?
No. They can’t read anyone’s mind. A “how they feel” reading reflects on what you notice and hope for, using each card’s feelings meaning, and turns the question back to what is yours to know and do.
Will they know I asked?
No. Nothing is shared with them or anyone else, and nothing is posted anywhere.
Which spread suits a love question?
Three cards suit most love questions. For more room, a deep reading lays ten cards in a Celtic Cross, with positions such as hopes and fears, for $4.99 once. Nothing renews.
Is it free?
Yes. Three readings a day are free, each with one follow-up question, and you don’t need to sign up.
Is my question private?
Your question is sent to Lanterndeck’s server and to our AI provider to write the reading. It isn’t stored on our server or used to train AI. If you keep the page, it is saved in this browser on this device, and you can export or delete it any time.
